Melissa Burnett started in real estate as a second career. Born and raised on Cape Cod, she relocated to New Bedford Mass in 1999, when she accepted a job offer upon graduation from U Mass Dartmouth.

Melissa worked in the retail management feild for over thirteen years. Customer service and satisfaction was an essential requirement of her position. After having her second child she decided to change careers with the support of her husband. Melissa joined Alferes Realty in 2006. She chose real estate because it is a one-on-one customer-driven business. When a buyer or seller is completely satisfied at the end of a transaction, it leaves her feeling rewarded and happy to be in this business.
